T|G provided the conceptual and detailed design services for this project in collaboration with local engineers. New storm water wetlands were designed to maximize the removal of pollutants from storm water runoff using the same natural processes occurring in native wetland. The wetlands are sized to treat runoff for both existing development as well as an additional 6 acres of future expansion. This will ensure a sustainable means of accommodating growth at DHMC and greatly assist in permitting of future projects, while yielding immediate benefits as an aesthetic and wildlife habitat resource frequented by employees, patients and visitors.
