Hackley School is a 112 year-old, K-12 independent day school with a small boarding component. Its hilltop perch is surrounded by a magnificent 230 acre forest. Having recently completed major building and athletics expansion, the school sought the planning and design expertise of Towers|Golde to re-evaluate, enhance and unify its core campus landscape which had lost cohesion and hierarchy.

T|G analyzed the ecological, physical and cultural characteristics of the landscape, probed the contemporary requirements for its use, and designed treatments to clarify and refine the various landscape typologies. The planning process also led T|G to recommend a number of specific improvement projects to address issues of circulation and way-finding, parking, campus identity, services, faculty residential expansion and enhanced pedagogical opportunities.
