Pfizer Research Laboratory, New York Botanical Garden
The Pfizer Plant Research Laboratory is conceived as an edge building, defining the boundaries of the manicured administrative campus to the west and projecting into protected woodlands to the east. Towers|Golde collaborated on this siting and carefully designed the grading to minimize the environmental impacts of this 26,000 s.f linear structure which houses some of the world’s most innovative plant research. It comprises nine laboratories, support and storage facilities, offices, multi-use areas for students and visiting scholars, and a conference room. All of the labs and public spaces open out to the view to the lake.
