Mohegan Sun Earth Expo and Convention Center 2nd Phase Complete

A two phase project which included the design of a new 300 bed hotel and a 155,000 sf expo center. T|G’s charge was to seamlessly integrate both into the existing landscape fabric of an expansive casino complex while accommodating the programmatic elements of outdoor spaces, parking and vehicular circulation. Particular attention was paid to the design of pedestrian terraces, which provide flexible and unique exterior spaces for the guests. The hotel terrace, a primary element of the site design, overlooks a bioretention garden that reinforces the building's geometry, while artfully intercepting stormwater before it enters the drainage system. The predominately native plantings provide a contextually appropriate palette for the surrounding area, while providing strategic screening and year round visual interest.
