UConn Gant Science Complex Receives Award of Merit

The Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) has recognized the Gant Science Complex at the University of Connecticut with an Award of Merit in the Higher Education (Large) category. Towers|Golde provided site planning and landscape architectural services in close collaboration with an outstanding project team of 25 consultants, 52 subcontractors and core team members from the UConn’s Planning, Design and Construction Group.

About the Project Team Awards

The CBC recognizes outstanding building projects that exemplify project team excellence and represent the best practices in teamwork by project owners, architects, engineers, constructors, and trades. Each year, CBC recognizes projects whose team members have met or surpassed goals and achieved higher project quality through this close collaboration.

About the Gant Science Complex

The Gant Science Complex project in Storrs, CT transformed a 1970’s building into a vibrant, flexible hub of teaching, research, and collaboration. Renovation of a 290,000 SF, 50-year-old science building, while occupied, was a massive and complex undertaking. The project had many phases and close coordination was required for adjacent utility tunnel work.
